Dynamic analysis of sliding mode control of switched reluctance motor drive

摘要

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive with a sliding mode controller (SMC) in the closed loop speed control system. A four phase (eight stator pole and six rotor pole) SRM operating in all fourquadrant is considered in this study. This system makes use of a non-linear, robust SMC in speed control loop and hysteresis. current controller in current loop with a view to accomplishing a high level of dynamic performance of a SRM. The mathematicalmodel is made realistic by considering experimental data of the SRM stored in the form of a look up table and using quick interpolation techniques. The simulated dynamic performance of SRM operating under different conditions such as starting, speedreversal and load perturbation is reported and the scope of sliding mode based speed control of SRM is outlined.
