Strike after strike is impacting the metallurgical coal market, with supply chain disruptionsholding up prices for premium coking coals despite unfavourable demand conditions.Heading towards the July-September contract negotiations, coking coal producers can beconfident they won’t see price drops from the June quarterly prices of US$211/t FOB forpremium hard coking coal (HCC). We agree, and expect prices to settle at US$220/t FOB.
