There are plenty of safety regulations and practices in place for drilling operations, but even with these put into action, drill sites still pose numerous hazards. Thus it is important to foster a culture of safety within drilling companies. It all starts with solid training, but for safety programmes to work the culture needs to run through the whole company, from management to field operators. Company managers need to be active supporters of safety practices, so workers feel confident to call attention to unsafe working practices and equipment.
