In the last decade geothermal systems have increased in popularity as energy costs continue to rise and customers are becoming aware of these ever-more-efficient units. During the same period, the development of polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bits has continued to evolve in order to deliver faster and more efficient drilling. Originally, the PDC bit was designed for oilfield use and was an expensive tool choice.
