With a capacity of some 590,000 tonnes a year and 1,900 employees, the Grevenbroich rolling mill is the largest production facility within the Hydro group. It is the headquarters of the company's rolling division and makes rolled products for use in automotive applications, packaging, building and construction, and lithography. The operating units include a foil mill for the thinnest foil, coil-coating units for building products and beverage can lids, a thin-strip rolling mill and three litho machines for processing strip to make offset-printing plates. The Hydro Automotive Centre is located at the plant and has one line for coating and one for heat treatment of strip for automotive applications; Hydro anticipates dynamic growth in this sector in future.
