The major cotton growing areas in Tungabhadra Project were surveyed for the incidence of red spider mite, Tetranychus macfarlanei B p and its predator, Amblyseious longispinosus (Evans) during the cotton growing season of 1992-93. The population ofT. macfarlanei was found to build up from October to November and attain peak during middle of November. The population of A. longispinosus followed almost similar trend but found to recover once again during January.
