The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) on April 11 hailed development of a solar-poweredsyngas scheme that would boost thermal efficiency of natural-gas-fired power plants. According to PNNL, a thermochemical-conversion device – creating synthesis gas from natural gas – is installed in front of a concentratingsolar power dish.
