摘要

The increasing use of cast or formed aluminium components in the automobile industry has, among other things, had a serious impact on the machining of such components. The fact that aluminium alloys mainly had excellent machining properties was known in principle since the early 1930. However, so long as there was no sufficiently extensive mass production to create demand, tools and machines suit-able for aluminium remained rather a fringe area. The fact that this viewpoint has now changed, is shown among others by the example of Pin gel Prazision Drehteile Sundern, which has established a position for itself as a strategic market partner in the automobile sector.
