Wendt et al. (2009) provided the results of six Weld campaigns in a large region, which they call Ahnet Mouydir area. This nomenclature does not take into account the traditional division of the region and major geological structures (e.g., Conrad 1985). The western part of the studied area of Wendt et al. (2009) is commonly considered to be the eastern part of the Reggane Basin, whereas the Ahnet is restricted to the central part of their study area. Wendt et al.(2009) noted the presence of the Calcaires du Jebel Berga in Wve synclines and provided information on two logged sections.
