The Arabian Peninsular is the largest peninsular in the world, covering a total area of 3.24 million km2. The majority of its surface is covered by desert, but it is the oil underneath the peninsular that was responsible for the region's rapid development and a very large number of construction projects. The region is home to rapidly-developing, oil-rich economies such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain as well as the world's largest oil producer, Saudi Arabia. This review also covers Oman and Yemen.
