LARRY once wrote: I guess that if you asked the staff in Geneva to say one thing about the current boss, they would probably say he is the one who is not afraid of changes or computers-and that they sometimes wish he was!The quotation neatly highlights two constant threads in the Eicher legacy-the important of communications and of communication: on the one hand, his conviction that ISO needed to exploit fully the possibilities offered by information and communication technologies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its standards-development work and, on the other, his talent for communicating what could be complex messages to ISO's internal and external audiences in simple and often humorous terms.
