This perspective from Spain argues that ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 enable public administrations to benefit from a distillation of good management practice and rapidly to evolve from a top-down approach to one centred on the needs of citizens. Contributing to the welfare of society is surely an objective that anyone would take on straight away. In fact, all organizations are established in order to fulfil a specific demand of society regarding, for instance, food, transport, health, education, etc.
