On 22 November Aluminium Norf GmbH, the world's largest aluminium rolling and remelt plant, officially inaugurated another Twin-Chamber Melting Furnace manufactured by LOI Therm-process. The plant is used especially for melting organically contaminated production scrap. The entire plant concept, with its melting furnace, its own charging machine and crucible filling, is identical to the recycling centre that Hydro, the second partner in Alunorf, officially began operating almost exactly two years ago. The melting furnace itself features numerous technical refinements.
