Adrian and Karen Waterhouse run their tree surgery and forestry contracting business, Treeworld, from Pool Bank Farm midway between Harrogate and Leeds. They are both firmly of the opinion that woodlands should produce timber. The fact that they may be well used by the local population for amenity and leisure purposes should not preclude the commercial harvesting of what is, after all, a valuable renewable resource that is in short supply. Adrian is a local lad who started work on his father's pig farm. Promotion came in the way of managing a pig farm on his own account, but he was soon back at 'home farm' - this time to borrow his dad's chainsaw and pick-up truck. The Waterhouse family had always supplied firewood to the local community from the woodlands it owned and Adrian intended to continue the tradition, and, at the same time, earn an income from tree surgery.
