When the ban on the chrome plating of metallic components comes into force in July 2003 in the context of the EU's directive on old automobiles, new concepts will be required for corrosion protection. This will affect companies which have until now protected their metallic components by chrome plating, or which for example wish to lacquer aluminium. The newly developed nano-lacquer by NTC Nano Tech Coatings GmbH (Tholey/Saar) could be a way out. As Managing Director Dr. Georg Wagner has explained, the new generation of lacquers is simple to handle and can be applied using conventional techniques (spraying, immersion) and classical equipment.
