Significant hedge positions are helping some European EPs survive the oil price downturn. Les Thomas, chief executive of London-listed Ithaca Energy, said that despite a challenging oil price environment, "substantial hedging gains" helped the company deliver strong cash flow from operations in the first half of the year.
