The Siemens plant in Bocholt, Germany, has eighteen Engel tiebarless injection molding machines (eleven with a clamping force of 4,000 kN, six with a clamping force of 2,500 kN and one with a clamping force of 1,500 kN). These machines operate as fully automatic production cells producing plastic parts for cordless phones. Engel Automatisierungstechnik in Dietach, Austria, customized three of these machines with special tandem handling systems. The parts of the film-decorated shell for the new Gigaset 4000 from Siemens are produced on a just-in-time basis here in 2+2 family molds.
