You don't necessarily need money to burn to opt for wood waste cogen these days. In the face of rising energy costs and lower capital costs, it's an option that merits a closer look. In the wood products sector, a significant amount of electricity andthermal energy is consumed in producing the finished products. Electricity is generally used to operate machinery while thermal energy, in the form of steam, hot oil or hot air, is used for processing and drying products. As part of the manufacturing process, wood residue in the form of bark, wood shavings and sawdust is produced. This biomass waste is generally disposed of by incineration, combustion in a hot oil heater, or in a cogeneration (cogen) plant used to produce steam and electricity simultaneously.

7. The role of ethics and ideology in our contribution to global health The topic of this article has vividly interested the author for many years. It is fascinating to him that the issues at stake have not changed for the last 30 years or so.
