Leoni, the German wire, cable and wiring systems specialist, has reported a 14 percent increase in turnover during 2001 of 1,098 million euros. Profit for the year reached 28m euros, which is 27 percent up on the previous year. Leoni expects to increase its turnover by about 5 percent to 1.15 billion euros in 2002, and sees an increase in profit on ordinary activities. Leoni's wiring division has expanded its plants in Tunisia, Egypt and Romania, and is in the process of building two new sites in Romania and the Ukraine.
