ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Foundry now performs infrared scans safely and without downtime. ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Foundry, Waupaca, WI, also known simply as Waupaca Foundry, has found a non-intrusive and reliable method to perform infrared scans for preventative maintenance of their electrical distribution equipment. Through the use of a new product, and by following a new procedure, the foundry has saved substantially on semi-annual costs, which included overtime labor and special utility service requirements. The dual drivers of these savings were the foundry's emphasis on safety and its switchgear supplier's service offer. The foundry produces metal castings for worldwide transportation markets, and ships more than 1 million tons of gray and ductile iron castings annually. In addition, Waupaca Foundry produces many castings applications for the agricultural, construction and infrastructural industries.
