The fall in China's domestic spot prices has continued longer and run deeper than expected, spreading fears that there will be a secondary round of cuts as distributors rush to clear stocks before they are further devalued. The free market has been undermining all efforts by mills to stabilise prices, and by the end of July and the beginning of August a number of mills were marking their prices down officially.
