The $Aus has strengthened to 0.93$US and interest rates continue at all time lows of 2.5%. Reports from the plastics manufacturing and distribution operations clearly indicate a high level of confidence in the newly elected Australian Liberal Coalition government. Australia is still a high cost manufacturing country but the new Government has committed to reducing overheads and costs of doing business through red tape reduction. The mining industry as it recovers will provide new opportunities for engineering plastics.
