Malaysian bauxite mining and exports are expected to resume onApril 16 at a rate of around 15 million tpy, a Malaysian governmentofficial said.According to Azemi Haji Eki, principal assistant director at theMinerals and Geoscience Department, the government will make thefinal decision when it makes environmental checks. There is currentlyno plan to extend the three-month ban, he noted.
