Honeywell has launched a carbon potential controller version of its established 'Leader Line' UDC5000 digital controller for use in the heat-treatment of steel parts, resulting in better product quality and operating savings, it is claimed. The instrument automatically calculates and controls the percentage carbon and regulates the furnace temperature, well within required limits, so providing a simple and accurate means of ensuring that carburised parts are surface hardened correctly. The field-proven Honeywell UDC5000 carbon potential controller is said to provide high accuracy, a direct readout of carbon percentage and compatibility with zirconium oxide (ZrO_2) carbon probes. It is simple to install and operate, being configured through English language prompts.
