Hitech Furnaces Ltd, which normally specialises in producing furnaces for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, has developed a range of bench mounting tube furnaces. These are becoming popular for other diverse applications such as general industrial laboratory use, university labs and research applications where perhaps small batches of new products are required before full production begins. For instance, a number of units have now been sold to new 'spin-off' companies from the major universities who demand a highly controllable and high quality product but at a price well below the normal for a full sized, multi tube, production furnace.
