The purpose of this work is the presentation of a new solution, with special technico-economic performances, actually verified, regarding the drying of the romanian inferior coals, such as the wooden brown coals -lignites - with PC, fluctuating between 8.5 and 12 MJ/kg (that is between 2,000 and 2,850 kcal/kg), the humidity fluctuating between 25 and 40 percent and with a sulphur combustible content reported to the anhydrous mass ("anh") comprised between 1 and 6 percent. In order to reckon, it is thought a medium coal, with the granulation between 0-30 mm, with the initial humidity W,'=30 percent, the ashes content A~(anh)=45 percent reported to the drying mass, sulphur S_c~(anh)=4 percent, volatile V~(anh)=35 percent, having Pc_1=2.500 kcal/kg. Another lignites having compositions fluctuating around the previous ones, will lead to similar economic consequences; the reckoning will be remade without difficulty, and the assessments will be precise enough. The coal is provided with the 0-30 mm granulation. By riddling and crushing, the granules will have maximum 10 mm. which is convenient for the introduction into the drier, the respective bulk having a porosity of 37 percent (m=0,37). The reckoning regarding the drier will be made for a capacity of 10 t/h coal, with the humidity of 30 percent. with a medium density of 0,71 t/m~3 reducing the humidity" to 5 percent; the reckoning will be also remade in the case of reducing the humidity from 30 to 20 percent. Therefore, from the drier it will be pulled out ( 0.30-0.05)* 10=2.5 t/h water, and in the second case, (0.30-0.20)*10=1.0t/h water.
