The Utah-Coal section is fortunate that it has been able to sponsor the Coal Country Classic Scholarship fundraiser, in conjunction with Ellis Pierce of Pierce Oil/Golden West Industries, for the past 19 years. Because of this event, the section is able to award several academic scholarships each year and to help our community with earth science educational projects.
