The quarrying industry has never been more responsible or committed to the communities it works in than it is today. Across the country, nature reserves, country parks and lakes, not to mention hundreds of thousands of new homes, are all the result of the industry's good work. With the government stating a commitment to building one million new homes by 2020 and population growth driving strong demand for housing, the potential need for quarries has never been greater. But applicants still face an uphill battle to win consent for new extraction facilities.
