Buckinghamshire CC in April was recommended to refuse proposed extraction of hoggin and inert filling with waste at Warren Farm, Chalfont St peter, by Earthline Ltd. The application area was not within one of the Preferred Areas and there was sufficient landbank provision so the proposal would be contrary to the Replacement Minerals Local Plan for Buckinghamshire. The 6.75ha application site was in the Metroplitan Green belt and the Colne Valley Park close to the Chilterns AONB. It was proposed to extract some 125,000cu.m of hoggin from the site in two phases and import 543,375cu.om of inert waste over 10 years. It was stated that this application was required to increase the number of hours of sunlight that reach the site. The proposal was also contrary to landraising policies.
