摘要

A new formulation of hyperbolic heat conduction based on a scalar field called thermal potential is proposed. For purposes of illustration, the formulation is used to obtain the temperature distribution and the heat flux density distribution for a plane slab with a prescribed temperature on one boundary and a prescribed heat flux density on the other boundary. It is shown that the thermal potential is not affected by discontinuities, even if step changes of the boundary temperature or of the boundary heat flux occur.
