Photos by Jonathan Buckley When Geoff Hamilton visited my garden at Glebe Cottage many moons ago, the hot border was one of his favourite areas. He thought it a novel idea to group plants with exotic foliage and vivid orange, yellow and red flowers. Today, over 20 years on, we still have a hot border- or, to be precise, two hot beds. They are in a different place and more extensive than they were, but then that is one of the exciting things about gardens - they should change and develop, unfixed in time, and never stagnate.
