摘要

Collar and cuff soils is a common natural soil that is difficult to remove. It is characterized by particles, particualrly clay, embedded in an oily matrix.Residual soils accumualte on the textile causing malodor and discoloration. In the presence of apocrine secretion and skin bacteria, odiferous compounds are formed.Microscopy methods have been developed to study these residues.Soil is observed as coating of oil on the surfaces of fibers, between closely spaces fibers,in surface irregualrities, and crenulations.Laundering removes soil from the surfaces of the fabric and yarn structures, but some residues remain within the capillary structures formed by the yarn bundle.Cleaning of small capilalries is improved for fibers treated with soil release agents orw ith the sue of laudry additives that include enzymes.
