Subjects and methods: The study included 37 individuals with TBI during inpatient rehabilitation. At the initial COPM assessment the most important occupations in the area of self-care, productivity and leisure were identified, followed by patients self-rating of the performance and satisfaction activities of high priority. A reassessment was administered on average 30 days following the initial assessment. Convergent validity was examined by correlations with the Functional Independence Measure (FIM). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and by corelation analysis. Results: A total of 158 occupational priorities were identified in the areas of self-care (63.29), productivity (24.05) and leisure (12.66). The difference between the initial COPM assessment and reassessment is clinically and statistically significant. A statistically significant correlation was found between the COPM performance and the total FIM result, both at the first and the second assessment. There was also a statistically significant correlation between the changes of the initial assessment and reassessment of COPM performance and changes of total and motor FIM. Conclusion: The findings of this research has shown the area of self-care, especially personal care and functional mobility to be the most important for people with TBI during inpatient rehabilitation. COPM has proven to be a sensitive and valid self-rating assessment tool of the occupational performance priorities during inpatient rehabilitation of people with TBI.
