摘要

The title aza#173;stilbene derivative, C14H13NO2 {systematic name: (E)-2-(4-meth#173;oxy#173;benzyl#173;idene)amino#173;phenol}, is a product of the condensation reaction between 4-meth#173;oxy#173;benzaldehyde and 2-amino#173;phenol. The mol#173;ecule adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine C#61;N bond and is almost planar, the dihedral angle between the two substituted benzene rings being 3.29#8197;(4)#176;. The meth#173;oxy group is coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is attached, the Cmeth#173;yl#8212;O#8212;C#8212;C torsion angle being #8722;1.14#8197;(12)#176;. There is an intra#173;molecular O#8212;H#8943;N hydrogen bond generating an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal, mol#173;ecules are linked via C#8212;H#8943;O hydrogen bonds, forming zigzag chains along 10-1. The chains are linked via C#8212;H#8943;#960; inter#173;actions, forming a three-dimensional structure.
