摘要

The structure of the title compound, cis-CrCl(cycb)(H2O)ZnCl4#183;3H2O (cycb is rac-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexa#173;methyl-1,4,8,11-tetra#173;aza#173;cyclo#173;tetra#173;decane; C16H36N4), has been determined from synchrotron data. In the complex cation, the CrIII ion is bound by four N atoms from the tetra#173;dentate cycb ligand, a chloride ion and one water mol#173;ecule in a cis arrangement, displaying a distorted octa#173;hedral coordination geometry. The distorted tetra#173;hedral ZnCl42#8722; anion and three additional water mol#173;ecules remain outside the coordination sphere. The Cr#8212;N(cycb) bond lengths are in the range of 2.0837#8197;(14) to 2.1399#8197;(12)#8197;#197; while the Cr#8212;Cl and Cr#8212;(OH2) bond lengths are 2.2940#8197;(8) and 2.0082#8197;(13)#8197;#197;, respectively. The crystal packing is stabilized by hydrogen-bonding inter#173;actions between the N#8212;H groups of the macrocyclic ligand, the O#8212;H groups of the water mol#173;ecules and the Cl atoms of the tetra#173;chlorido#173;zincate anion, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
