摘要

The title mol#173;ecular salt, C5H12NO+#183;C12H8N5O9#8722; common name: 4-methyl#173;morpholin-4-ium 1,3-dimethyl-5-(2,4,6-tri#173;nitro#173;phen#173;yl)barbiturate, possesses noticeable anti#173;convulsant and hypnotic activity. In the anion, the 1,3-di#173;methyl#173;barbituric acid ring and the symmetrically substituted tri#173;nitro#173;phenyl ring, linked via a C#8212;C bond, are not coplanar but subtend an angle of 44.88#8197;(7)#176;. The six-membered ring of the 4-methyl#173;morpholin-4-ium cation has a chair conformation. In the crystal, the cation and anion are linked via an N#8212;H#8943;O hydrogen bond. The cation#8211;anion units are linked by a number of C#8212;H#8943;O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
