摘要

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common infections in childhood. Majority of pediatric UTIs are caused by Enterobacteriaceae family. There is recent rise in community acquired UTIs due to extended-spectrum b-lactamase (ESBL)-producing bacteria. Although difficult to treat, whether these infections are clinically more severe compared to non-ESBL UTIs is not clear. So, our study aims to compare the risk factors, clinical characteristics and short term clinical outcome of urinary tract infections caused by ESBL-producing bacteria and non ESBL bacteria.
