摘要

Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of kidney transplant recipients (KTR) remains limited. Gut health and HRQoL are tightly related, and it was recently shown that the composition and neuroactive potential of the gut microbiota is associated with HRQoL in the general population. This relationship has not yet been studied in KTR who are known to suffer from an imbalance in the gut microbial community (dysbiosis). In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between gut microbiome and HRQoL in KTR and assessed whether associations with clinical measures related to physical and mental health were consistent with these findings.
