The China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) is collecting body measurement data from 20,000 children and young adults (ages 4-17) in more than 10 provinces.The campaign,which was initiated in 2004,aims to help formulate national policies related to ergonomics,public safety,and other areas.The study will also provide statistical support for commercial production of apparel,furniture,and transportation.
