After a rocky few months, the global economy is still forecast to strengthen in 2016 and 2017, albeit more gradually than previously expected.Following growth of 3.1% in 2015, the IMF has lowered its world GDP projections in both 2016 and 2017, to 3.4% and 3.6%. The expectedslowdown in China will restrain commodity prices in the near term, while a gradual tightening of monetary policy in the US will likely lead todollar appreciation and capital outflows from emerging markets.
