The Rocky Hill stock is a small 1-type granodiorite intrusion of Upper Jurassic age on the western margin (Tulare County, California) of the southern Sierra Nevada batholith. The margin or rim-facies of this diapiric intrusion is relatively uniform medium-coarse grained granodiorite with normally zoned piagioclase, and surrounds a core zone marked by a finer grained subporphyritic texture with oscillatory-reverse zoned piagioclase, and containing many small aplite/pegmatite patches, pods, and segregations, as well as being host to several large aplite dikes, up to 10 feet in thickness.
