Thermodynamic Properties of Solvent Elements in Dilute Solute Solutions in Liquid Binary Systems

摘要

During the sixties and seventies hey-days of research endeavours in the field of materials science, extensive experimental studies were made on the thermochemistry of metallurgical reactions, which were pertinent to the ferrous and non-ferrous metal refining processes. The solute-solvent interaction in liquid metals derived from some of these ther-mochemical studies were collated by Sigworth and Elliott for only liquid iron, copper and cobalt as solvents. In pursuit of further assessments of certain thermodynamic properties of solute-solvent interactions in binary systems, the author recently derived the standard free energies of solution in liquid solvent elements. These evaluations were made using the thermodynamic data compiled by Hultgren et al. and the data in Refs.
