This time, we will discuss Volume 3 of the new Handbook of Liquid Crystals, which will still cover the more basic aspects of liquid crystals and is entitled 'Nematic and chiral nematic liquid crystals'. The volume consists of 629 pages, divided into four parts: (I.) Common features of nematic liquid crystals, (II.) Conventional nematic liquid crystals, (III.) Discotic, biaxial and chiral nematic liquid crystals and, at last, (IV.) Blue phases.
