A INTERNAL mould release designed for in-mould coatings used in reaction injection moulding(RIM)processes is available from Axel Plastics Research Laboratories,Wood-side,New York,USA.MoldWiz INT-220IMC is reported to be easily miscible in the water-borne polyurethane(PU)coatings typically used in RIM processes to achieve either finished,or primer painted surfaces,on moulded PU parts.The company says that adding 1%(by weight)of the product to PU in-mould coatings is enough to cleanly release the coatings from steel tooling and to enhance release from composite tooling.
