摘要

We have just been notified of our new impact factor for 2007 of 1.847. This is our fourth impact factor and represents an increase of 22% compared with lastyear and we are currently ranked 23/34 of all Respiratory Journals. Our impact factor has doubled since the first one was awarded. This is very encouraging news for the Journal and we are very grateful to all those who have played a part in achieving this. We remain committed to a similar or greater improvement each year.We are delighted to welcome Dr Chi Chili Leung in our team of Associate Editors for the Journal. Dr Chi Chiu Leung is working as a consultant chest physician in the Tuberculosis and Chest Service of the Department of Health in Hong Kong. He is trained both as a respiratory specialist and as a public health physician. His research interests include tuberculosis, occupational lung diseases, smoking and other lifestyle factors. He has published extensively on these topics in different respiratory and other medical journals. We are looking forward to his contribution to the Journal.
