摘要

The fruit of an intensive orchard planting in Meeanee, Hawke's Bay is coming to bear for integrated fruit business, Apollo Apples Ltd. When Apollo purchased the 3 8-hectare Steiner property in 2002 it was what can only be described as a massive junk yard. Previous owners had for many years been paid to take Watties canning factory fruit and vegetable waste, and winery crushings, as well as using it as a dumping ground for old broken machinery. The first step for orchard operations manager Courtney St George was a massive clean-up with hundreds of loads of old machinery parts taken to the dump.
