The UK Chapter's considerable energy is being focused on big things. Specifically, It is busy organizing Europe's 2002 SAMPE International Conference and Exhibition, to be again held in conjunction with the JEC at a new Paris venue. Technical management is being carried out by Frazer Barnes, and the Scientific Committee chaired by Roy McCarthy.The UK Chapter also notes that its member Bob Griffiths is due to assume leadership of SAMPE Europe in 2002, taking over from Professor Jose Kenny.
