摘要

FEELING UNCERTAIN OR OUT OF PLACE IS QUITE COMMON FOR MANY EMPLOYEES, AS THEY MOVE INTO NEW ROLES OR COMPANIES. JENNY TIPPING, WHO HAS SPENT THE LAST DECADE DRIVING TRUCKS, SHARES SOME OF HER STRATEGIES FOR THRIVING IN NEW AND CHALLENGING WORK ENVIRONMENTS. In the course of our careers, we may find ourselves in situations where we feel out of place, maybe as the only one from the shop floor in a sea of graduates or vice versa, or as a new recruit from a different industry. Over the last 10 years of driving trucks I have been in numerous such situations and through experience and a bit of emotional intelligence, I have developed strategies for not just coping but thriving in what can sometimes be a hostile work environment.
