摘要

The rapid enumeration and detection of microbial contaminants (indicator organisms) and pathogens in food is critical for ensuring the safety of consumers. Traditional methods are time consuming with the utilization of more facility and manpower. These substantially lengthy analytical time requirements cause delays in release of finished products to its designated destinations resulting in economic loss to the food processing industries. Further, the results may vary with microbial population, media& conditions which can yield false negatives or positives with a large measurement of uncertainty. In addition, these methods are labour intensive also.
