ASTROPHOTOGRAPHERS always strive to capture the most detailed and colorful images possible with theirequipment. While most of us don't shoot from mountain-tops with subarcsecond seeing, we still manage to takenoteworthy pictures. Local atmospheric conditions, imper-fect guiding, wind buffeting, and other problems blur ourimages, obscuring small-scale details, bloating stars, andmaking our pictures look flat or out of focus. Fortunately,modern image-processing techniques, particularly decon-volution, can compensate for many of these deficiencies.The trick is learning how to use them effectively.
